§ 2-33. Authority to remove appointive officers.

  • The city council may suspend any officer appointed by the council or the mayor, and no further proceedings need be had other than the suspension. The mayor may, with the consent of the majority of all the members elected to the council, remove from office any appointive officer at will; and any such appointive officer may be so removed by a two-thirds ( 2/3 ) vote of all members elected to the council independently of the mayor's approval or recommendation.
