§ 28-69. Water rates for small quantity consumers and persons not in city.

  • (a)

    Persons desiring small quantities of water for [a] short time only will be charged rates to be fixed by the superintendent of the water department commensurate with the services rendered but at no less than three (3) times the prevailing rates.

    (b)

    Persons desiring city water service and located in the unincorporated limits of the city shall be furnished water at the rate of two dollars and forty-eight cents ($2.48) per one hundred (100) gallons, as measured and registered by water meters for all of said residences and business houses. The city shall not assume the responsibility of supplying mains or extensions to these properties. The costs of extensions shall be borne by the applicant or applicants for such water service.

    (c)

    Water rates shall be increased at the rate of three-thousandths (.003) per cent per month or the minimum rate of four (4) per cent annually. These rates will be reviewed by the city council annually and may be increased by the council on its own accord or by the council upon the recommendation of the city clerk and city accountant.
