§ 2-98. Appointment; qualifications; term of office; salary.

  • (a)

    City collector to be an appointed office. Effective at the expiration of the term of office of the presently elected city collector, said office of city collector shall be filled by appointment by the mayor with the consent and approval of a majority of the members elected to the city council, in accordance with Section 77.330, Missouri Revised Statutes, and any subsequent amendments to said statutes of the State of Missouri.

    (b)

    Qualifications. The city collector shall be a resident of the city, a registered voter under the laws and constitution of the State of Missouri and shall not, at the time of his appointment, be in arrears for any unpaid city taxes or forfeiture or defalcation in office.

    (c)

    Term of office; salary. The term of the office of the city collector shall be one (1) year, and his salary shall be $0.00 per year.
